It's playoff time, and Alcoa had no trouble coming through when it counted. They didn't even let the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals on the board on Wednesday, marking the Tornadoes' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tornadoes, who have now won 19 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Tori Haun was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Jablonski, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Alcoa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .455 or higher in three consecutive games.

Alcoa's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 37-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 20-16-1.

Coming up, Alcoa will square off against Sweetwater on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tornadoes 2.1, the Wildcats 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Eagleton College & Career Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
