The West Central Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Frontier Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after seven games, but that won't be the case come Friday.
On Friday, West Central took their contest with ease, bagging a 72-14 victory over Faith Christian. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Drea Villarreal and Nathan Peter were among the main playmakers for West Central as the former rushed for 127 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries and the latter threw for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Teagen Holle made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Frontier was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Tri-County 62-8. The Falcons are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the sixth contest they've won by 20+ points this season.
West Central better keep an eye on Ayden Justice. He was instrumental in Frontier's win, rushing for 94 yards and three scores on only six carries, while also throwing for 67 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes. Justice has been hot recently, having posted three or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another back making a difference was Dustin Stagge, who rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.
West Central's record now sits at 7-0. As for Frontier, their record is now an identical 7-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. West Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 238.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Frontier struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 218.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
West Central was taken down by Frontier 47-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Trojans were down 34-0.
