Softball Recap: San Pasqual Takes a Loss

After flying high against Classical Academy on Monday, San Pasqual came back down to earth. The Golden Eagles fell 4-1 to the San Marcos Knights on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kayleigh Carby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Madison Gonzales made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.

San Pasqual's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for San Marcos, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

San Pasqual has already played their next contest, a 4-1 defeat against Escondido Charter on the 20th. As for San Marcos, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Eastlake at 4:00 p.m. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
