Preview: Douglas County Huskies vs. Heritage Eagles
The Douglas County Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heritage Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 games -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge.
Even though Legend scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Douglas County still came out on top. Douglas County took their contest against Legend 72-63.
Anthony Nettles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 32 points along with eight assists and eight steals. It was the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of London Moore, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Heritage's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 80-58 walloping at the hands of Mountain Vista. Heritage has not had much luck with Mountain Vista recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Douglas County's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Heritage, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.
Douglas County came up short against Heritage in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 72-63. Thankfully for Douglas County, Hank Gorzelanski (who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
