Basketball Recap: Clemens Comes Up Short

Clemens was the 55-51 winner over Judson when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Clemens Buffaloes fell 57-49 to the Judson Rockets on Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Clemens lost, don't look at Letrell Hoover. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Hoover has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Christian Dupree was another key player, putting up ten points.

Even though they lost, Clemens smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Clemens' defeat dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Judson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-15 record this season.

Clemens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-38 win against Medina Valley on the 18th. As for Judson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-60 victory against Eagle Pass on the 17th.
