Volleyball Recap: South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Takes a Loss

If South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Leola/Frederick last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Ellendale Cardinals on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Mustangs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

While South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Ellendale's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-15, 25-21.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley]'s defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ellendale, they moved to 16-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Herreid/Selby at 6:00 p.m. on the 20th. As for Ellendale, they will venture away from home to face off against Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
