Southern Nash hasn't had much luck against Rocky Mount recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Southern Nash Firebirds will face off against the Rocky Mount Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Southern Nash is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Nash Central 60-45 on Friday.

Southern Nash had a senior duo take command as Brandon Hill almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards and George Richardson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Hartsfield, who posted ten points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mount entered their tilt with Franklinton last Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the Red Rams out 65-62. That's two games straight that the Gryphons have won by exactly three points.
Rocky Mount found their leader in freshman Brelyn Moses, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. Moses' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Semaj Parker was another key player, going 7 for 8 en route to 16 points.
Rocky Mount smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.
Rocky Mount is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Southern Nash, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Southern Nash has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Rocky Mount struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
