Baseball Recap: St. Patrick Victorious

St. Patrick won the last time they faced Bay and things went their way on Friday too. The St. Patrick Fighting Irish walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Bay Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Fighting Irish.

Bennett Rimes made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Ayden Le and Eli Bowen did most of the damage at the plate: Le scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Bowen went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Le a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jasper Moran, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

St. Patrick's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, St. Patrick will head out on the road to take on Oak Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bay, they will host Purvis at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
