Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Avery Keys and Sara Davis Lead Childress to Victory

There's no place like home for Childress, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fort Elliott Cougars on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Childress walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 25-11.

Leading Childress to victory were Sara Davis and Avery Keys. Davis had 17 assists and three aces, while Keys had six digs. Those 17 assists gave Davis a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Childress was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Childress' victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Fort Elliott, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Childress will face off against Altus at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Elliott, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shamrock at 6:00 p.m. The Cougars are facing the Irish at the right time seeing as the Irish are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
