Softball Game Preview: Santa Fe Chiefs vs. La Serna Lancers

The Santa Fe Chiefs will challenge the La Serna Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Fe has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Santa Fe came up short against El Rancho on Tuesday, falling 13-3. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Fe saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Coppin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, La Serna didn't have quite enough to beat Torrance on Saturday and fell 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly two runs.

Santa Fe now has a losing record of 6-7. As for La Serna, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Santa Fe was able to grind out a solid victory over La Serna in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
