Basketball Game Preview: North Providence Cougars vs. Mt. Pleasant Kilties

The North Providence Cougars will face off against the Mt. Pleasant Kilties at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in North Providence's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Mt. Pleasant has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, North Providence was able to grind out a solid victory over Burrillville, taking the game 44-35.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant came into Tuesday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Central by a score of 35-28 on Tuesday.

North Providence has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Mt. Pleasant, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Everything came up roses for North Providence against Mt. Pleasant in their previous matchup on January 6th, as the squad secured a 55-28 victory. In that matchup, North Providence amassed a halftime lead of 33-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
