Softball Recap: Mcdonald Beats Poland Seminary for Their Third Straight Win

McDonald extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 3-4 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Poland Seminary Bulldogs a 2-0 shutout. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

The result came thanks to Aubrey Evans's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks.

At the plate, McDonald's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Miley Titus, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

As for Poland Seminary, they now have a losing record of 5-6. The game marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Poland Seminary's side, Lillian McDonald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonald will take on Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Poland Seminary, they will face off against West Branch at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
