Walled Lake Northern waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Mattawan Wildcats 14-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the game before.

Walled Lake Northern's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mattawan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7-1.

Coincidentally, Walled Lake Northern and Mattawan will both be playing Portage Central the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Knights will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
