Baseball Recap: False River Finds Home Field Redemption Against White Castle

There's no place like home for False River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the White Castle Bulldogs on Friday as they made off with a 17-1 win.

False River let Benson Jewell and Wyatt Orilion run wild. Jewell scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Orilion scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Jewell a new career-high. Draelon Morrison was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

False River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.

False River's victory bumped their record up to 2-17-1. As for White Castle, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

False River will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
