Basketball Recap: DuVal Comes Up Short

DuVal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 48-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Eleanor Roosevelt was led to victory by Camille Brandon and McKenzie D'Antignac. Brandon dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while D'Antignac went 9 of 19 en route to 21 points. Those 16 points gave Brandon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marjay Connelley, who posted six points and five boards.

DuVal's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

DuVal has already played their next matchup (against Bladensburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eleanor Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-17 win against Suitland on the 27th.
