Baseball Recap: Quitman Takes a Loss

Quitman's last matchup with Grand Saline could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Bulldogs lost 11-1 to the Indians. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 22, 2016, but that streak is no more.

Quitman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Davis, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Quitman's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-17-1. As for Grand Saline, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Quitman will venture away from home to challenge Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgewood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Quitman's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Saline, they will head out to take on Brownsboro at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
