Volleyball Recap: Whetstone Braves vs. Big Walnut Golden Eagles
Whetstone and Big Walnut squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Whetstone had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Big Walnut scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23.
Big Walnut's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Parry, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs gave Parry a new career-high.
Whetstone's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Big Walnut, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11.
Whetstone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Big Walnut, they will square off against Pickerington North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
