Basketball Game Preview: Houston Hurricanes vs. Lanesboro Burros

The Houston Hurricanes will square off against the Lanesboro Burros at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Houston knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Lanesboro likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Houston got the win against Grand Meadow by a conclusive 75-52. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Houston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Geiwitz out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Morgan Rohweder, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lanesboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 victory over Mabel-Canton on Friday. The Burros' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Houston has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points over those games. Lanesboro's win bumped their record up to 13-14.
