Basketball Recap: Brookhaven Falls Despite Big Games from Johnny Crump and Jay Ross

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brookhaven can now relate to. They fell to the Laurel Golden Tornadoes 70-64. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jay Ross and Johnny Crump certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ross almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards, while Crump almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Ross is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Gamble, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.
