Volleyball Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy Flashes vs. Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders

The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will square off against the Old Plank Christian Academy Defenders at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Old Plank Christian Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Joseph Academy, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, St. Joseph Academy got the win against Global Outreach Charter Academy by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Flashes in their matchups with the Kodiaks: they've now won three in a row.

St. Joseph Academy walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-8, 25-20, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Old Plank Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Duval Charter by a score of 3-2 last Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Defenders in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Old Plank Christian Academy took Duval Charter into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-12, 15-10.

St. Joseph Academy skirted past Old Plank Christian Academy 2-1 in their previous meeting back in August of 2024. Will the Flashes repeat their success, or do the Defenders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
