Basketball Recap: Lone Peak Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Lone Peak waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 70-65 W against the Lehi Pioneers. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Pioneers back in January, they had to take a 65-61 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lone Peak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samuel Suarez, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Suarez a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Crew Fotheringham, who posted 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Lehi lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Easton Hawkins, who put up 21 points and six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Saxon Young was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Lone Peak's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Lehi, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Lone Peak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-46 loss against Westlake on the 14th. As for Lehi, they have also already played their next game, a 73-50 win against Pleasant Grove on the 14th.
