Baseball Recap: Palmer Ridge Triumphs

Palmer Ridge got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They won by a run and slipped past the Lutheran Lions 10-9. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

The team relied heavily on Beckett Goss, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Palmer Ridge is undefeated when Goss posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Maestas, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Palmer Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Palmer Ridge back to even at 7-7. As for Lutheran, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.

Palmer Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
