Baseball Game Preview: Grundy Golden Wave vs. River View Raiders

The Grundy Golden Wave will face off against the River View Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Phelps hit Grundy with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Neither the Golden Wave nor the Hornets could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for an 8-8 tie.

Meanwhile, River View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to Mount View.

River View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Turner Addair, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Aiden Tester also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

River View's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. With that tie, Grundy's record moves to 8-3-1.

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Grundy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .561. However, it's not like River View struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Grundy beat River View 13-8 when the teams last played on April 9th. Will the Golden Wave repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
