Soccer Game Preview: Marquette University vs. Wauwatosa East

The Marquette University Hilltoppers will head out to square off against the Wauwatosa East Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Marquette University is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Whitefish Bay, who was ranked 25th at the time (Marquette University was ranked 16th). Neither the Hilltoppers nor the Blue Dukes could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Wauwatosa East had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.6 goals) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles an 8-0 shutout. Wauwatosa East might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Racine Case from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Finn Hawkins led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

With that draw, Marquette University's record moves to 4-5-3. As for Wauwatosa East, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Marquette University beat Wauwatosa East 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Do the Hilltoppers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
