Basketball Recap: Mary Persons Bulldogs vs. Upson-Lee Knights
Mary Persons lost against Upson-Lee back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mary Persons Bulldogs had to suffer through a 72-44 loss at the hands of the Upson-Lee Knights. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Knights are ranked 84th).
Despite the defeat, Mary Persons had strong showings from Dee Grier, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals, and Tobias Hare, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points.
Mary Persons' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Upson-Lee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
