Softball Game Preview: Bell Blue Raiders vs. Byron Nelson Bobcat

The Bell Blue Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Byron Nelson Bobcat at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bell has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bell came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Southlake Carroll, falling 14-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blue Raiders have suffered against the Dragons since March 30, 2015.

Meanwhile, Byron Nelson won against V.R. Eaton on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Bobcat walked away with a 4-1 win over Northwest. The Bobcat haven't had any issues with the Texans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meredith Hambric looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maya Pardue, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Bell has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Byron Nelson, their record now sits at 15-11-1.

Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Byron Nelson struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
