Softball Recap: Strafford Takes a Loss

Strafford blew Sarcoxie out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Sarcoxie got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Bears by a score of 9-7. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kayliegh Lexa put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Dalyce Scrivener made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Strafford now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Sarcoxie, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strafford will welcome Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sarcoxie, they will square off against Stockton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Tigers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
