Even if they lost, Belton's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Torres was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Rowdy Watson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Ellison's win came from a few key players Belton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marlyn Smith, who rushed for 49 yards and one score, and also threw for 222 yards on 17 of 26 attempts. Another player making a difference was Juan Ramirez, who picked up 114 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Ellison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Tyler Reed led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Ellison got some further help from Perry: he picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Belton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ellison, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-3.
