Greater Thumb - West recap Oct. 23, 2012

Reese extended the longest winning streak in Greater Thumb - West this week by beating Whittemore-Prescott, 26-6. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Rockets.

Cass City took down Caro 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

All Saints Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. William Daniels threw for 121 yards and Nick Hunter had 100 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Cardinal chipped in 88 yards. Cardinal helped All Saints Central's passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.

Vassar's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vulcans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tanner MacKay has thrown for 442 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Nathan Greaves has 17 catches for 515 yards. Greaves leads the league in rushing with 737 yards.

Laker made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,434 from 9,643. The improvement was the result of 41-6 victory over Imlay City last week.
