Softball Recap: Pocatello Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pocatello entered their tilt with Wood River on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Wolverines. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-8 on Saturday.

Pocatello got a massive performance out of Jakobi Nebeker, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jordy Snell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pocatello lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Pocatello's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Wood River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocatello will host Bonneville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Wood River, they will take on Mountain Home at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
