The Raton Tigers will challenge the Santa Rosa Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Raton sitting on 11 straight victories and Santa Rosa on three.
Raton will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Tucumcari, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Rattlers on Saturday.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17.

Raton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Medina, who hit 100% for ten kills and ten digs and five aces. Medina has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 47 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aveah Marquez, who had 12 digs and three assists.
They weren't the only good servers: Raton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 24 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Rosa took on Pecos on Tuesday. The Lions came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Santa Rosa was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 21-25, 25-17, 25-20.
Raton's record now sits at 18-3. As for Santa Rosa, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Raton skirted past Santa Rosa 3-2 in their previous matchup back in October. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
