West Jersey - Freedom recap Oct. 3, 2012

Florence Township Memorial extended the longest winning streak in West Jersey - Freedom this week by beating Robbinsville, 13-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Palmyra's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Terry Bailey threw for 87 and one touchdown and Kelvin Harmon had 101 yards receiving. On the ground Caliph Wright chipped in 10 yards. Tai Belford helped Palmyra's passing attack out by catching three balls for 28 yards.

Wright made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Panthers fell to Delran. The 5-foot-8 senior grabbed one interception.

Palmyra's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zach Berry has thrown for 470 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Wright has 19 catches for 336 yards. Belford leads the league in rushing with 172 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Burlington City takes on Maple Shade. As it stands, the Blue Devils are in fourth, while the Wildcats are in second.

Maple Shade led West Jersey - Freedom in scoring this week after putting up 34 points on Maple Shade.
