Basketball Game Preview: Lawton Wolverines vs. Harrah Panthers

The Lawton Wolverines will take on the Harrah Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Lawton ended up a good deal behind Altus and lost 58-39. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Harrah unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Rock Creek. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lawton will have to contain Brooke Robb as she made an impact in Harrah's last game. She posted 12 points and six boards. Robb has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Maggie Vinson was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Harrah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Lawton's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Harrah, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-2.
