Volleyball Recap: Westwood Christian Takes a Loss

Westwood Christian was the 3-1 winner over Archimedean when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors came up short against Archimedean on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Archimedean scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.

This is the second loss in a row for Westwood Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-0 Pinecrest Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Archimedean, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-5.

Westwood Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Pinecrest Prep on the 10th. As for Archimedean, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Hialeah Educational Academy on the 10th.
