Recap: Vanguard Knights vs. Forest Wildcats
The Vanguard Knights suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Forest by a score of 40-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vanguard in their matchups with Forest: they've now lost five in a row.
Vanguard lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being D'Mareon Manning, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Harris, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Vanguard's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Forest, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Vanguard will face off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Forest on the road again on Saturday and play against Lake Highland Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Lake Highland Prep is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
