Baseball Recap: Payson Lions vs. Hillcrest Huskies
Payson came out on top against Hillcrest on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Lions blew past the Huskies 11-1. The Lions not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 13-3).

Brigzen Houser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Payson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Payson got a big performance out of Cole Neves, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Ty Marvin was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Payson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillcrest only posted an OBP of .263.
Payson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-10. As for Hillcrest, they dropped their record down to 8-18 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Payson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Huskies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
