Basketball Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

Newark played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Yorkville Foxes, falling 93-55. The Norsemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-26.

When it comes to explaining why Newark lost, don't look at Dylan Long. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Cody Kulbartz, who posted seven points and three blocks.

Newark's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9. As for Yorkville, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 8-11 record.

Newark will host Morris at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Yorkville, they will challenge Romeoville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Romeoville is on a five-game streak of home losses, Yorkville a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
