Baseball Recap: Cardinal Takes a Loss

Cardinal entered their matchup against Chariton on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Comets took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on June 2nd.

This is the second loss in a row for Cardinal and nudges their season record down to 13-6. As for Chariton, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cardinal beat the Chargers by a score of 13-3 later that day.
