            Softball Preview: Wickenburg Wranglers vs. Kingman Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            The Wickenburg Wranglers will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against the Kingman Bulldogs  at 3:45  p.m.  on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Wickenburg is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost  19-11 to Phoenix Christian on Wednesday. Sadly, the  defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.
 Maleigh Colvin was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned  (and 12 unearned) runs off   six  hits. Those  ten  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.

 In other batting news,  Tylee Buchert was cooking despite her team's loss,   going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  double. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  hits (four).  Brynlee Meister was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Wickenburg was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Phoenix Christian only posted a  batting average of  .296.
 Meanwhile, Kingman unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against  Bourgade Catholic on Wednesday, falling  14-0.
 Everything went Wickenburg's way against Kingman in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, as Wickenburg made off with  a  14-2 win. Will Wickenburg repeat their success,  or does  Kingman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
