Basketball Recap: Oak Glen Takes a Loss

Oak Glen and Tyler squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Oak Glen had to settle for second. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tyler Knights. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent loss being a 72-61 defeat back in January.

Tyler's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jules Lattea led the charge by dropping a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points Lattea has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Katie Grimm, who scored 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Oak Glen's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tyler, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Oak Glen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tyler, they will take on Wheeling Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wheeling Central Catholic comes in on seven and Tyler on three.
