Football Recap: Cotopaxi Pirates vs. Granada Bobcats

Cotopaxi had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 67-7 loss at the hands of the Granada Bobcats. The Pirates lost against the Bobcats in their previous head to head back in October of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 52-14 score last time.

Joel Tezak threw for 43 yards on seven of 16 attempts.

Sebastian Pizarro went supernova for Granada, rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Pizarro's longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandro Perez, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cotopaxi will venture away from home to take on Walsh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cotopaxi focused on turnovers this week as team gave up seven on Friday. As for Granada, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Branson/Kim at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
