Baseball Game Preview: Folsom Bulldogs vs. Yuba City Honkers

The Folsom Bulldogs will take on the Yuba City Honkers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

If Folsom beats Yuba City with four runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out McClatchy 4-3 on Tuesday.

Folsom got a great performance from David Engelken as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Engelken a new career-high.

At the plate, Folsom's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Williams, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, while Yuba City put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Vista del Lago. The Honkers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Honkers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Brandon Pelechowicz made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eliaja Moncher, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Brody Miller was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Folsom's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Yuba City, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
