Softball Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

If Sierra was feeling good fresh off their 23-1 takedown of Mendota last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sierra Chieftains came up short against the McLane Highlanders on Friday, falling 14-5. The loss continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now lost four in a row.

Naliyah Gibson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Khloie Benson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra will challenge Coalinga at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McLane, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Avenal at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
