Basketball Game Preview: Morse Shipbuilders vs. Leavitt Hornets

The Morse Shipbuilders will face off against the Leavitt Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-34, which was the final score in Morse's tilt against Erskine Academy on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Shipbuilders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Leavitt came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 54-47 win over Lincoln Academy on Tuesday.

Leavitt's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Morse, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Morse might still be hurting after the 46-26 defeat they got from Leavitt in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Morse avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
