Baseball Game Preview: Baxter vs. Don Bosco Dons

Baxter hasn't had much luck against Don Bosco recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Baxter will square off against Don Bosco at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Baxter 3.9, Don Bosco 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Baxter fell victim to Janesville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, Baxter's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Don Bosco had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Knights.

Don Bosco's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Baxter, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Baxter suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Don Bosco in their previous matchup back in June of 2025. Can Baxter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
