Basketball Recap: Staples Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Staples won the last time they faced Warde and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Staples Wreckers blew past the Warde Mustangs 73-50. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-21.

Staples was led to victory by Sam Clachko and Adam Udell. Clachko went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five steals, while Udell dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten boards, and ten assists. Those ten rebounds gave Udell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Corrigan, who posted 12 points.

Staples' win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Warde, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staples has already played their next matchup (against Bridgeport Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Warde will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
