The Raytown South Cardinals will challenge the Pembroke Hill Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Raytown South is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Ruskin on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their one-run performance the match before.

Marcellus Goudeau was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Raytown South let JuKobe Jones and Ty'Kese Walker run wild. Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Walker went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reed Hamby, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Raytown South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Pembroke Hill was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Barstow as they made off with a 22-4 victory. Considering the Raiders have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Eli Sitzer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Sitzer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Pembroke Hill got a massive performance out of Brendan Sotta, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Miles Washington was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
The win made it two in a row for Pembroke Hill and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Raytown South, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
Raytown South came up short against Pembroke Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
