Basketball Recap: Annie Hendley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat New Covenant School

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph's Catholic, Upstate was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the New Covenant School Cavaliers by a score of 54-45.

Upstate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Annie Hendley, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Hendley is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Elizabeth Barth was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 10 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Upstate was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Upstate's record now sits at 3-1. As for New Covenant School, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Coming up, Upstate is taking a road trip to square off against Southside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Covenant School, they will be home for the holidays to greet Providence Athletic Club at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
