Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Chatham Charter

Chatham Charter gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Southwestern Randolph Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Jace Young was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Chatham Charter's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ryder Murphy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Chatham Charter's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Southwestern Randolph, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Chatham Charter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Clover Garden School on the 22nd. As for Southwestern Randolph, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against Montgomery Central on the 22nd.
