After failing to score in their last matchup, Mattoon made sure to put some goals up on the board against Newton on Friday. They blew past the Eagles 5-1. Considering Mattoon have won six matches by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mattoon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four matchups. As for Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3-1.
